1. Regulatory Status

Is Cregis Custody FZE regulated?

Yes. Cregis Custody FZE is licensed by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to provide Virtual Asset Custody Services in Dubai (DWTC).

Which regulations apply to your services?

We operate under the VARA Custody Services Rulebook, VASPs General Rulebook, Market Conduct Rulebook, and Compliance & Risk frameworks.

2. Our Services

What type of clients can use Cregis custody services?

Institutional clients and Qualified / Professional Investors, as defined under applicable VARA Regulations.

What does Cregis Custody FZE do?

We provide secure storage, safeguarding, and protection of Virtual Assets for institutional and qualified clients.

Do you offer trading, staking, lending, or yield products?

No. We focus exclusively on custody. We do not provide trading, staking, delegation, lending, borrowing, or yield-generating activities.

Which Virtual Assets do you support?

We currently support BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, TRX, and SOL. We custody assets that pass our Virtual Asset Standards assessment, which covers regulatory clarity, security, technical integrity, and liquidity. Our full list of supported assets is available on our website.

3. Security & Safeguarding

How are my assets stored?

Client assets are held in segregated, secure custody wallets controlled exclusively by Cregis Custody FZE. Assets are never mixed with company funds and are protected by strict key-management controls. Assets remain the property of the client at all times.

How do you protect private keys?

We use institutional-grade key-management systems, multi-layer security controls, offline signing processes, and strict access governance. Private keys are never shared with clients or external parties.

Can Cregis Custody move my assets without permission?

No. Transfers require valid client authorization, except where legally required by regulatory authorities or court orders.

4. Transfers & Withdrawals

How do I request a transfer or withdrawal?

Requests must be submitted through your authorized communication channels and approved according to your onboarding documentation and custody agreement.

Are there cut-off times or processing delays?

Transfer times may vary based on asset type, network conditions, and mandatory security checks.

5. Insurance & Risk Controls

Are my Virtual Assets insured?

Cregis Custody FZE may maintain insurance coverage aligned with VARA's custody requirements, covering risks such as theft, loss, and operational failures. Coverage details may vary depending on the asset, jurisdiction, and service level, and can be provided upon request.

6. Client Rights & Protections

Do I retain ownership of my Virtual Assets?

Yes. You maintain full legal and beneficial ownership. Your assets are not part of Cregis Custody FZE's balance sheet.

What happens if the company becomes insolvent?

Client assets remain segregated and cannot be accessed by creditors. They must be returned to clients.

7. AML, KYC & Compliance

What type of clients can open a custody account?

Cregis serves Institutional Investors and Qualified / Professional Investors only. Retail investors are not eligible.

What documents are required to open a custody account?

Corporate documentation for institutional clients, for example:

How long does verification take?

Client onboarding and verification may take up to 24 hours, provided that all required and requested documentation has been submitted.

Why do I need to provide so much information?

These requirements protect clients and ensure compliance with UAE regulatory standards under VARA's AML/CFT framework, which requires identity verification, beneficial ownership checks, and source-of-funds documentation.

8. Complaints & Support

How do I submit a complaint?

You may file complaints through our official complaints channel published on our website. We acknowledge complaints promptly and provide a resolution within VARA-mandated timelines.

What if I am not satisfied with the resolution?

You may escalate the complaint directly to VARA, as outlined in our Complaints Handling Policy.

9. Self-Custody Wallets

Do you support self-custody wallets?

You may use third-party self-custody wallets, but Cregis Custody FZE does not manage, store, or recover private keys for non-custodial wallets.

We apply our Virtual Asset Standards, assessing:
